Asian Wrestling Championship begins today in New Delhi

Rio Olympics bronze-medallist Sakshi Malik will spearhead the Indian challenge at the Asian Wrestling Championship beginning in New Delhi today. Sakshi along with Olympian Sandeep Tomar and Bajrang Punia will be aiming for podium finishes.

India had bagged 9 medals – 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 5 Bronze – in the last edition of the tournament held in Bangkok last year.

In the competition, 112 freestyle, 103 Greco-Roman and 83 female wrestlers will be vying for 24 Gold and Silver, and 48 bronze medals.
