US and British governments have agreed to begin preparations to discuss a potential free trade agreement once Britain pulls out of the European Union.
US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer made the announcement after a meeting of the bilateral trade and investment working group in Washington. British trade secretary Liam Fox also attended.
Lighthizer said he looks forward to furthering the two countries’ mutual goal of achieving free and fair trade and investment.
The administration of President Donald Trump is working to correct what it calls trade imbalances.
