All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee

Meeting of the General Body of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committe was held at Delhi today. Leaders and representatives of more than 150 farmer organisations attended and decided to carry forward the historic movement that has been launched on 16th June 2017, through several programs.
It was decided that after the overwhelming response received from farmers and villagers during the 1st Kisan Mukti Yatra of AIKSCC from Mandsaur to Delhi (1st to 18th July) culminating in the first ever 2 day Kisan Sansad at Jantar Mantar, such contact and mobilisation initiatives should be stepped up. Accordingly 5 more Kisan Mukti Yatras have been planned as follows:
1. 2nd Kisan Mukti Yatra of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir from
31st August to 6th September, 2017
2. 3rd Kisan Mukti Yatra of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana from
16th September to 23rd September, 2017
3. 4th Kisan Mukti Yatra of North Bihar (Champaran), Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand from
2nd October to 10th October, 2017
4. 5th Kisan Mukti Yatra of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, South Bihar & West Bengal from
29th October to 5th November, 2017
5. 6th Kisan Mukti Yatra of Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya & Assam from 6th November to 10th November, 2017
It was also decided that on the first day of winter session of Parliament in November 2017 a mass gathering and meeting of farmers from all over the country will be held at Delhi to press for acceptance of the two primary demands of AIKSCC, viz. Remunerative Prices computed @50% of the input price and freedom of all farmers from all kinds of debt.
It is noteworthy that All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) is a pa-India forum of all farmers and farm workers, their unions, farmer organisations and their federations. For AIKSCC farmer means anyone involved in primary production of food, including cultivators, agriculture labourers, fishermen, poultry farmers, dairy farmers and horticultural farmers. AIKSCC aims to create sustainable and honorable living and livelihood of farmers and farm workers. The first and foremost task of AIKSCC is to strengthen and direct the ongoing farmers’ revolt in in several parts of the country. It recognises that there are two core issues for farmers’ movements, common and pressing for all farmers across the country: Remunerative Prices and Freedom from Debt.
