The CYSS Delhi unit had decided against contesting the DUSU central panel elections this year since the University authorities did not show any interest in implementing the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations. The university lacks a fair mechanism and there is no body that genuinely monitor university elections.
Despite repeated orders passed by the Hon’ble Delhi High Court and the National Green Tribunal for properly monitoring the Lyngdoh guidelines, the Election Commissioner took no action to ensure its proper implementation.
The CYSS, had therefore, decided to concentrate in various DU colleges elections this year. It contested on 28 seats in different college campuses of D.U. and secured victory on 25 seats. (PLEASE FIND THE LIST OF WINNERS ATTACHED WITH THIS RELEASE)
The student union poll results in various universities across the country indicate a growing discontentment among the students with the Modi government. The students have given a stern message to the right wing ABVP by rejecting the State sanctioned hooliganism in JNU and D.U. campuses.
