Maharashtra Bags 4 medals on day 2 of National Aquatic C’ship

Day 2 of 71st Glenmark Senior National Aquatic Championship 2017 remained glorious for Team Maharashtra as they bagged 2 Gold, one silver and one Bronze. In Women’s 200m Breaststroke, Jyoti Patil striked first Gold for Maharashtra in the event, with a timing of 2.44.76 and Karnataka’s Saloni Dalal clocked 2.45.16 to finish second while Gujarat’s Kalyani Saxena clocked 2.45.63 to finish third.

In Women’s 50m Backstroke, Jyotsna Pansare score Bronze and the second medal of the day for Team Maharashtra with a timing of 31.91. Tamil Nadu’s Nivya Raja finished first with a timing of 30.99 while Karnataka’s 14-year-old, Suvana C Bhaskar won Silver with a timing of 31.82.

Later, Maharashtra’s Veerdhawal Khade dominated the Men’s 50m Freestyle with a timing of 23.18 to bag second Gold for his side while there was close competition between Gujarat’s Anshul Kothari and RSPB’s Aaron Dsouza, who clocked 23.30 and 23.60 to finish second and third respectively.

The highlight of the evening of Day 2 remained the 4x100m Medley. Karnataka 1 broke National Record with a timing of 4.31.70 while Maharashtra 8 striked Silver with a timing of and Tamil Nadu 4 girls settled for Bronze with a timing of 4.41.73.
