Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that sanctions are hurting international communication and contacts among lawmakers.
He made the remarks at the opening of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, IPU, on Saturday in St. Petersburg.
Criticizing the sanctions over Ukraine, Putin said that such restrictive moves which have occurred more frequently are not admissible and harmful.
He also underlined Russia’s role in Syria and showed willingness to be involved in rebuilding the war-torn sate.
He said that the international community should think about the after-war reconstruction of Syria.
Delegates from more than160 countries and international organizations including North Korea at the IPU assembly are likely to discuss nuclear and missile programs of the North.
