The Meteorological Agency says Typhoon Lan is situated south of Japan and moving north at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour.

Lan could make landfall in the country on Monday, maintaining its current strength.

The agency is warning of mudslides, swollen rivers, violent winds and high waves.

Officials of Okinawa Prefecture, southern Japan, say a woman in her 50s suffered minor injuries on Saturday evening when she fell in strong winds.

Airlines have already decided to cancel over 330 flights, mainly to and from Kyushu and Shikoku regions.
