“Facilitating Policy Change

Dear Mr. Sagar ,

Greetings from Pahle India Foundation (PIF)!

Pahle India Foundation is a not for profit policy think tank, established in June 2013 as a Section 8 company. PIF’s motto is “Facilitating Policy Change.” PIF is committed to enriching the public discourse and also to influence policy formulation that will help India successfully complete its triple transition in economic, political and social fields.

One of our research focus is on the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sector. The capacity of SMEs for driving local, regional and national economic growth is owed in large part to their role in generating employment, nurturing entrepreneurship as well as tapping into regional and global networks for expanding exports. Despite the salient nature and role of SMEs sector and the rhetoric that surrounds them, they remain a relatively neglected area for rigorous research and effective policy making.

With this in mind, Pahle India Foundation and YES Global Institute have come together to organise a monthly seminar series, “PIF-YGI Monthly Seminar Series on MSMEs.” The objective of the Seminar Series is to contribute to policy advancement in this important area, by marshalling the available expertise and experience and publishing the proceedings as Policy Briefs.

We are writing to invite you to the fourth seminar of the series, “Opportunities for SMEs in the Gems and Jewellery Sector” and share your viewpoints. We propose to hold the seminar in New Delhi, on October 26, 2017 at Lecture Hall- 2, India International Centre, New Delhi, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
