US President Donald Trump has threatened to cut off financial aid to countries that back a United Nations resolution opposing the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Mr. Trump told reports at the White House that many countries take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars and then they vote against US. Mr. Trump’s comments come ahead of a UN General Assembly vote on a resolution opposing any recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
United Nations General Assembly will hold a rare emergency special session today at the request of Arab and Muslim countries on US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Palestinian UN envoy Riyad Mansour said, the 193-member Assembly will vote on a draft resolution calling for Mr Trump’s declaration to be withdrawn.
