ABOUT THE EVENT
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s forthcoming visit to India in January 2018 will define a new equation between the two countries. The visit, within 6 months of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic trip to Israel this year, indicates the growing significance of the bilateral partnership. As both countries shed their past inhibitions and chart a new way ahead, the trajectory of the relationship is clear and ascendant.
Israel has the opportunity and capability to be part of India’s growth story. While there are existing well-known collaborations between the two countries in defence, there are immense opportunity to harness Israeli technology and innovation to develop critical sectors in India including agriculture, water efficiency; cyberspace and data protection; e-learning and digitalization in all its forms.
The session would discuss the significance of his visit, the opportunities and challenges ahead, and engender a roadmap for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the coming years.
