MoPNG has steered a plethora of reforms in the recent past years.In this context the Government launched the Bid Round 1 under open Acreage licencing (OAL) programme for international competitive bidding on 18 January, 2108.
The launch event witnessed a pre-eminent gathering of Industry captains, Ambassadors, policy makers, bankers, leading professionals from E&P companies etc totaling over 100 attendees.
Main attraction of the event was 55 oil and gas blocks, each carved out by prospective bidders themselves in promising basins with an area of 59,282 sq Kms were announced for bidding . This is the largest offering of acreages,the Government has announced in the past 8 years.

The minister in his address said, quite hopeful in creating E&P ecosystem by reforms enunciated on boosting indigenous productions of oil and gas by infusion of state of art technology and collaborations with global players .

Investors will have an option to carve out an area of their choice.
Investors will submit an Expression of Interest EoI for petroleum operations Contract or Reconnaissance Contract.
Finalization of block by DGH and invitation for bidding bi-annually.
Submission of online and physical bids.
Bid evaluation and award of final contract.
During the event, launch of the e -bidding portal and notice inviting offer NIO,the e- bidding portal quite safe, secured and transparent e-bidding platform wherein bidders can submit their bids from any where in the world. Further,” DGH One Touch” mobile application was also launched which would act as a one stop solution for accessing information about DGH,policy initiatives and other relevant information on the move.

20 Companies awarded. 30Contracts awarded (23 Onland& 7 Offshore) of 777 sq.km. area.Expected Cumulative peak productionof 15,000 BOPD oil and 2 MMSCMD gas
