China show of Naval drill to Taiwan

China  country’s naval fleet including an aircraft carrier conducted military exercises in the western Pacific for the first time.
Is this  drill a warning to Taiwan and the United States on their continued deepening of ties.

China Central Television reported that the navy’s first aircraft carrier Liaoning and fighter jets as well as missile destroyers took part in the drill on Friday.

CCTV aired footage showing the fighters taking off from and landing on the carrier.

National Media said drill was conducted in the area to the east of the Bashi Channel between Taiwan and the Philippines.

Further  added the drill was aimed to improve fighting capability of the aircraft carrier in high seas.

Chinese government has criticized Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, who it says doesn’t accept the “One China” principle and is leaning toward independence.

Along with Friday’s drill, Chinese military held live-fire exercises near the Taiwan Strait on Wednesday. Its air force bombers also conducted flight drills around the island for three days through Friday..
