Saud bin Mohammed Al Sati 27-04-18 H.E. Dr Saud bin Mohammed Al SatiAmbassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to India.

Dr Saud bin Mohammed Al Sati has worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for over two decades. He completed his Bachelor’s degree from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah and got appointed as an attaché to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1989. He received his Master’s degree in Public Administration (1993) and Political Science (1994) from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He completed his PhD in International Politics from the same university in 1998. He has held various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served in the United States, the United Kingdom and Egypt.

Since January 2012, he has been serving as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to India. In his illustrious career, he has participated in various international forums including Davos Economic conference in Switzerland, Tallberg Forum in Sweden, Wilton Park in Britain, GCC European Dialogue conference at Menton in France and the sixth Heart of Asia Ministerial conference in Amritsar, India. He is married and has three children. He is fluent in Arabic and English.

Sanjay Singh is an alumnus of Delhi University, from where obtained a Masters in Physics. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1976 and served in Indian Missions in Mexico, Germany, Ghana and France and in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. He was Director in the Office of the External Affairs Minister and Joint Secretary and Head of Division dealing with Latin American Countries.  From October 1997 to June 2001, he was India’s Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City and from July 2001 to August 2004, Deputy Chief of Mission in Paris. He held charge in the Ministry as Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary (Gulf) from March 2005 to March 2009.

He was India’s Ambassador to Iran from March 2009 to March 2011.  He took over as Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs in March 2011 and retired in end April 2013. Since retirement he has been working with thinktanks on issues related to foreign affairs and was President of the Association of Indian Diplomats. He has been following developments in West Asia and India’s relations with the region closely and participating in numerous activities related to the study of West Asia.
