I travelled Up & Down Delhi-Chandigarh NHAI operated highways.
When huge investments had been made on NHAI Highways, Rs.11,000 Cr Eastern Peripheral Expressway alone – more on Western Peripheral Expressway and Delhi Metro Lines but Transport services remain Troubled as before.
Though already inaugurated – Traffic Diversions on to Eastern Peripheral Expressway are Not Ready. Couldn’t see a single Truck diversion at KUNDLI while passing the junction.
What is Worse is that While EPE had practically failed to divert 50,000 Large Trucks – but instead of average truck carrying 10T payload –5,00,000 Small & Micro Trucks with 1T average Payload have CHOKED Delhi Roads.
Though Delhi-Chandigarh NHAI Highways was DUG Up between Delhi & Panipat for widening and few Construction Work on at other sections in Haryana and Delhi but Machines and Workers were not on site even during working hours.
NHAI should release ‘Monthly Payments Made to Contractors as Indicators of Progress’ than merely giving Length of Projects being developed.
There is no improvement in Wide Open Stinking Drains and Mountain of Garbage. We could see Many sections of Delhi-Metro lines but none Connect to Only Highway to Punjab, Chandigarh, J&K and Himachal Pradesh that pass through middle of Haryana.
4 Decades ago Two Lane Delhi-Chandigarh Highways was dominated by Trucks, 2 decades ago when Four Lanes operated TRUCKS still dominated and presently when SIX lanes are operational and 8-10 Lanes are being developed – some sections operational – all lanes at times have all types of Trucks Operating all the time.
Most often All Sizes of Trucks from Micro to Multi-axle operate in Fast Lanes.
There is Monopoly of MegaCAB at Airport Arrival. I paid Rs.597 for Airport to Home service in MegaCAB on July03 and next day for Home to ISTB Kashmere Gate for nearly same distance was chargedRs.187 in Uber Cab.
ISBT Access and Services are even Worse though in Newly Built Building.
There is No RAMP or Belt to take Passenger Luggage from outside to inside on to the Platform. Even for a distance of 100m with Luggage on Wheels had to rely on porters.
There is no Guide Map – inside there is one Display Pannel indicating departure time but require 10 at each Entry Point and Cornors.
