Event : Arth-Art for Earth-The Excavated Museum of Clay by Manav Gupta

IGNCA cordially invites you to the first of its kind public art project on environment by one of India’s leading contemporary artists.

The art exhibits explore nature as a museum laboratory of art, espousing sustainable development by excavating the philosophies of ancient civilizations, like Indian vedic practices, on environment. The artist converts quintessential rural Indian clay pottery into avant garde contemporary installations that embrace nature through the five elements.

Sanjari was launched on the 30th Foundation Day of IGNCA on November 19, 2017 to promote folk music traditions of India.

In this celebration of Raags, we have chosen to present Raag Yaman in the Khayal Vocal, Sarod and Dhrupad Vocal formats. The main objective of the event is to experience Dhyaan or Mindfullness through the different expressions of Yaman.

Event : Play- Padma Shri Prahasana by playwright, Ms. Rashmi Kalsie

Padma Shri Prahsana is an intelligent satire about a character named Ms. Padma
Aggarwal who loses her Padma Shri and finds herself in the midst of a political drama.
Playwright, Ms. Rashmi Kalsie attempts to revive the glory of ancient Indian theatre on modern stage.

IGNCA Book Circle  @ Reference Library

Event : Book Launch cum Reading Session

Under the Outreach initiative, ‘the IGNCA Book Circle’, Kala Nidhi Reference Library organises a Book Reading Session every month.

For the month of June, 2018, IGNCA will hold a book reading session of ‘Conflict, Education and People’s war in Nepal’ by Shri Sanjeev Rai. This book presents an overview of the democracy movement and the history of education in Nepal. It shows how schools became the battleground for the state and the Maoists as well as captures emerging trends in the field, challenges for the state and negotiations with political commitments. It looks at the factors that contributed to the conflict, and studies the politics of the region alongside gender and identity dynamics.

IGNCA FILM CIRCLE SCREENING –  2nd & 4th Friday of every month

The film unfolds spiritual, cultural and social importance of the Kumbh Mela and highlights its great relevance for the modern world.

Event : Folklore Museum of Mysore

The film relates to the tangible and intangible heritage of the folk world. It explores the unique folklore within the broader dimensions of folk styles and also focuses on yaksagana and shadow puppetry.
