ROADSHOW on NHAI’s TollOperateTransfer(TOT- 2) & financial closure ceremony of TOT – 1 between Macquarie & . NHAI  plans to come up with Toll Auctions every quarter.

Minister Road and Transport, Nitin Gadkari said, Roadshow on NHAI’s Toll-Operate-Transfer (TOT) – 2 and financial closure ceremony of TOT – 1 between Macquarie & NHAI. Ministr added, “We have closed the first asset recycling initiative by any government in India. Also we have taken the second step in our journey in this program. The asset monetization program has seen good response from the private sector, and for that I am grateful to all of them. Also I invite them to participate in TOT-2.”
He said, By leveraging the existing infrastructure assets created in the past, and utilizing the proceeds, we are aiming at better utilization of funds, low concessionaire risk, and long-term investment opportunity.
In last 4 years Highway sector has seen investment of more than 7 lakh crores. Wehave set a target to increase the pace of road construction to 45 km per day.
This year our government has allocated 11 Billion USD (Rs, 71,000 crore) for development of roads and highways in the country. Through this we are creating more job opportunities for our youth and at the same time we are building quality road infrastructure in India.

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)  signed its first toll-operate-transfer (TOT) agreement with Sydney-based Macquarie group in this  TOT model, the concessionaire will be allowed to collect toll on assigned national highways (NHs) for a period of 30 years on upfront payment.

Australian firm is being given nearly 700 km of NHs for Rs 9,861.5 crore. The highways in question will be in the states of Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.

Macquarie  the highest bidder when NHAI opened the bids earlier this year. Macquarie has to make the payment within 120 days of date 27 April 2018.

NHAI  invites bids for Second Bundle of national highways under Toll Operate Transfer mode; The bundle comprises 8 NH stretches in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar and West Bengal
