Mr. Rahul Chaudhary, Past Chairman – CII Delhi State, and Chief Executive Servel India Pvt. Ltd.  gave welcome remarks.  He welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr. M.C.  Sampath, Hon’ble Minister for industries, Government of Tamil Nadu and requested him to address the delegates.

The dignitaries who addressed the delegates were Mr. M Ponnuswami, Chairman – CII Tamil Nadu State and Chairman & Managing Director Pon Pure Chemical India Private Limited.  Mr. S. Mr. Anurag Mehrotra, President & Managing Director, Ford India Mr. M. Vel Murugan IES, Executive Vice Chairman – Investment Promotion Industrial Guidance & Export Promotion Bureau Government of Tamil Nadu. Mr. M.C. Sampath, Hon’ble Minister for industries, Govt. of Tamil Nadu told that the Govt. has started a web portal for investors facilitating the process for setting up business establishments in Tamil Nadu.  He said that there is speedy procedure of its approval.  The portal is :  www.easybusiness.tn.gov.in             He highlighted the key achievements of the Govt. of TN. in respect of industrial growth, investment and its advantages.  He said that 20 automobiles companies like Ford, Nissan are doing well in Tamil Nadu.

Mr. Rahul Chaudhary said that the Saint Goblin Pvt. Ltd. Invested Rs. 650 Crore in Tamil Nadu in 1996 and since then it has been increasing its investment which is 3,500 Crore in the year 2018.

Mr. S. Chandramohan said that Tamil Nadu state has the largest manufacturing of Tractors for the farmers of the country and for export.  The Exports of Tamil Nadu has turnover of more than Rs. 9000 Crore.   He said that from Bicycle to Bus and even tanks are being manufactured in Tamil Nadu.  He said that the climate of  Tamil Nadu is pleasant and investor friendly.

The speakers told that there is good power supply in Tamil Nadu which is advantageous for the industrial growth.

Mr. Anurag Mehrotra, President & Managing Director, Ford India said that they have been progressing in their field of manufacturing having good cooperation from the Govt. of Tamil Nadu.  Their company has employed 5000 employees and is likely in increase the number of the employees upto over 10,000 as a result of  the expansion.

Mr. M. Vel Murugan and  Mr. K Gnandadesikan  addressed the delegates  telling about the investment in Tamil Nadu.  It was told that many foreign companies of USA,  Japan, Germany, France  have done investments in Industries in Tamil Nadu.   It was also told that Agro products , leather, Automobiles, electrical equipments, Softwares are being exported from Tamil Nadu which is of US $ 46 billion.   In food processing Tamil Nadu is the 5th largest industry in India.  They said that the cost of production of many items in Tamil Nadu is cheaper than that of China.  279.5 million tonnes of food production has been recorded in Tamil Nadu. It is the Largest Producer of milk in the world. 165,404,000 tonnes milk was produced in 2016-17. Tamil Nadu contributes 7% in India’s food processing output. It is one of the largest contributors to Fish production with 7.07 lakh MT (2016) and Leading Producer of Species and Cashew nuts.

It was told that the Tamil Nadu is 2nd in rank in terms of manufacturing of computers and its components.  The pocket friendly investments, good power supply, good climate, easy procedure for land and  support of Tamil Nadu govt. for smooth industrial growth was assured.

At the end  the dignitaries answered the Questions raised about solar energy and investment policies of the Govt.
