Vice President Venkaiah Naidu called on President of Chamber of Deputies of Romania, Liviu Dragnea at the palace of parliament in Bucharest today. He also held delegation-level talks with the President of the Senate of Romania, Mr Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and discussed various bilateral issues.
In his statement, Mr Naidu said that ties between India and Romania are historic, warm and friendly. He added that his visit reflects the desire to strengthen collaboration, to bolster friendship and diversify ties. He said that India stands ready to intensify parliamentary visits and other high-level exchanges between the two countries to strengthen ties in the political, economic, cultural areas.
Mr Popescu- Tariceanu said that Romania is ready to strengthen political and economic ties. The Vice President is scheduled to hold delegation level talks with the President of Romania, Mr Klaus Werner Lohannis and Prime Minister of Romania, Mr. Viorica Dancila.
India and Romania signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Petroleum and Gas, at the Palace of Parliament, in Bucharest, today.
