Last year RoRo Ferry service was introduced between Dahej & Goghaa distance of 32 km.
In State Assembly GoG reported since Oct22, 2017 54,639 passengers were served so far avg 165 per day and each paying Rs.500 one way ticket. Obviously it had failed to attract Passengers and when Passengers are not interested – Trucks would never be using RoRo Ferry. This service is closed – lame-duck excuse is Monsoon but ferry services are not closed in Rough Seas.
Promotional video shows that 5000 Commercial Vehicles [450 multi-axle Trucks, 3320 Heavy Trucks, 670 LCV, 780 Non Commercial Cars] and 12,000 People [Bus & Rail] operate-Travel between Bhavnagar & Bharuch districts.
Commercial Vehicles are not using Ro-Ro Ferry Service due to very high Freight Charges, only 1% of Passengers traveling between two districts use Ro-Ro service – mainly for sightseeing not commercial daily travel.
Ro-Ro service earned about Rs.75,000 per day allowing for Children Discount. An Indo-Candian Bus between Chandigarh to IGI Airport earn Rs.50,000 Per Trip or Rs.1,50,000 Per day. Operate 365 days in a year.
TOI also reported CAG found GSPC Sank Rs.17,000 Cr of Public Money which I had reported in Nov2011 – Seven years in advance which was subject matter of Fabricated 66A Case.
Urjit Patel was director of GSPC then is now RBI Governor.
