When World needs to Invest $2.4 trillion every year to limit GLOBAL WARMING to 1.5 degrees to save 420m People – more than 100m in India along 7000 kilometer coastline – hundreds of Large and Small Cities, Towns and Villages – India is wasting public money on Most Polluting National Highways, Elevated Highways through cities.

World may need $100 trillion to Limit GHG Emissions to Present Level – India is Guzzling Petroleum & Coal – 200m tons each and Growing at 10% which is neither SUSTAINABLE NOR DESIRABLE.

95% automobiles, 25m sold in India yearly are Small Cars and Two Wheelers.

By 2022 India may be IMPORTING Rs.20,00,000 Cr worth of Petroleum, LNG, Coal every year – 30% more pollution the way Highways are being developed in three years to 2022. In last three years India imports of Crude Oil, Petroleum Products and LNG has increased 34% from 151m tons to 202m tons.

Delhi Mumbai EXPRESSWAY being pushed by the Government at this time is least desirable when in the busiest Ahmadabad to Mumbai section –

Ø Bullet Train, Ahmadabad- Mumbai Expressway, Freight Corridor already coming up,

Ø Double Main Line track already in existence, National Highway and State highways are already operational.

Ø Airports and Shipping connectivity being upgraded and developed.

Ø Highways are MOST POLLUTING Transport in present times,

Ø Highways are not FAST for Indian Trucks, best efficiency at 60 kmph, Cars and Two Wheelers Average 60kmph to 80kmph.

Ø This year PETROLEUM & LNG Imports bill may cost over Rs.10,00,000 Crores,

Ø Instead of 42,000 kilometers of Main Highways – GoI ought to invest in RAIL PASSENGER HIGH SPEED CORRIDORS [Not Bullet Trains].
