Myanmar F-7 fighter jets crash

Two Myanmar fighter pilots were killed in separate crashes due to heavy fog.

Myanmar’s military says the F-7 fighter jets were flying near an air force base in central Myanmar with a group of other aircraft. One jet hit a telecommunication tower. A piece of that plane that broke off killed a girl who was in the 6th grade.

The other jet crashed nearby. Authorities in Myanmar linked both crashes to poor weather in the area at the time.

The video shows flames billowing up from the crash site near Kyunkone village about an hour away from the capital Naypyidaw.

F-7s are Chinese-made aircraft dating back to the early 1990s.
Some analysts have reportedly suggested there are ongoing technical problems with the Chinese planes.
