AAP Delhi Convener and Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai announced 6 Lok Sabha candidates for the upcoming election today. He said, “Recently, after the Mahagathbandhan rally during a meeting at Sharad Pawar’s residence, Congress President Rahul Gandhi refused to get into any electoral understanding. Yesterday, Delhi Congress President Sheila Dikshit also declared there was no possibility of an alliance.”
He added, “EC will soon announce elections and enforce the model code of conduct. There is little time left for the election now, which is why we have decided to declare our candidates.”

Chandni Chowk: Pankaj Gupta
52 year old Pankaj Gupta hails from a middle class family. He is a successful software engineer, who has worked with several multinationals and has also been an entrepreneur. For the last two decades, he has worked with various non-profits and been a part of the anti corruption movement as well. Pankaj Gupta has been the National Secretary of the party since it’s inception in 2012. He’s also a member of the Political Affairs Committee, along with being National Spokesperson and Observer of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa states.
North East Delhi: Dilip Pandey
One of the top leaders of Aam Aadmi Party, a computer engineer who has worked in many countries. He has been the AAP Delhi convenor. He’s also been an author of several books of social importance. He is a member of UNCAC & runs an organization that works for free healthcare of the poor.
East Delhi: Atishi
Atishi is a member of the highest body of the party ― Political Action Committee. She worked as an advisor to Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Re.1/- salary. A scholar from Oxford University, Atishi topped Delhi University from St. Stephens College.
South Delhi: Raghav Chadha
Taken education from Modern School & a B. Com. from Delhi University, Raghav is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He has been a student of Economics from London. He’s Aam Aadmi Party’s national spokesperson & a PAC member. He has also been the party’s treasurer & financial advisor to the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi on
North West Delhi: Guggan Singh
Guggan Singh has served the nation for 18 years, as a part of the Indo Tibet Border Police force. As the head of the Bhumi Sangharsh Samiti, he has fought for the rights of the poor and disempowered. He has been the national president of the weaver community wing in BSP. Gugan is a former MLA from Bawana and has held the post of Chairman in Delhi Government’s Khadi Board. He runs a school for children from economically weaker sections of the society, where he provides them with high quality education at a nominal fee. Gugan has been fighting for the rights of Delhi’s rural population.
New Delhi: Brijesh Goyal
Brijesh Goyal is a science graduate and yoga expert. He is a a well known leader of the community of Traders in Delhi is the Delhi Convener of AAP’s Trade Wing. For the past 7 years, he has been fighting for the rights of traders and businessmen of Delhi. To empower women, he has set up an organization that looks at women’s issues and works towards their development.
Gopal Rai has said, “The party has not yet decided upon a candidate for West Delhi. Many names have been put forward for West Delhi and the party is considering each name carefully. The seventh candidate’s name will be announced soon as well.”
