A plane crash in Colombia has killed 12 people. The Civil Defence emergency services said on Twitter that the Douglas DC-3 aircraft crashed in the centre-east of the country on a flight between the towns of San Jose del Guaviare and Villavicencio.
Douglas DC-3 is a twin-engine propeller plane that was first produced in the 1930s and can seat 30 people. The wreckage was found about an hour after air traffic control lost contact.
The cause of the crash is not yet known. Authorities are still trying to identify the dead.
