Southerly or south-westerly winds from the Anti-cyclonic circulation and northwesterly winds from northern India will converge over eastern India, leading to instability in the region.
As a result, scattered snow or rain and thunderstorms is likely over Arunachal Pradesh. Similarly, isolated rain and thunderstorms is likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh due to similar weather conditions.
According to the TWC met team, The Andaman and Nicobar islands will also experience isolated rain. Madhya Pradesh will also observe isolated rains.
Air quality will be under the poor to very poor category in major cities across India, especially Delhi.
Sunday and beyond
A cyclonic circulation located over northeastern India will cause widespread snow and rain along with thunderstorms in the region. Scattered snow or rain and thunderstorms are likely over Arunachal Pradesh. Isolated rain and thunderstorms likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Isolated snow or rain is possible over Sikkim.
Heavy rain along with thunderstorms is possible in Odisha. Jharkhand and West Bengal will also experience fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms. Similarly, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Bihar will also witness scattered rain.
Another WD which will affect north India from Tuesday onwards will bring isolated snow or rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
In southern India, isolated rain is likely over the Andaman and Nicobar islands, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
Isolated dense fog will cover most of the northern Indian states in the morning hours. Max temperatures are cooler than normal over northern, central, western, eastern and north eastern India and warmer over southern India on Tuesday and Wednesday. Min temperatures are average or warmer than normal all over India in this period
Air quality in major cities across India, especially Delhi will fall under the poor to very poor category.
