A small plane has crashed on top of a house in Chile, killing all six people on board.
The crash occurred Tuesday morning in a residential area in the port city of Puerto Montt, about 1,000 kilometers south of the capital of Santiago.
Footage from the scene shows the roof of the house severely damaged and in flames. The plane’s wings are protruding from the charred rubble.
Police said the pilot and five passengers died in the accident. Local media say four of them were employees of a seafood processing company.
Chilean aviation authorities are investigating the crash which is believed to have occurred shortly after takeoff.
The plane was reportedly flying between port cities in southern Chile where public transportation is sparse. Two people died in a crash on a similar route last year.
