I&B Minister to brief media this afternoon on first 100 days achievements of Modi govt’s second term
The NDA government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken many historic and path-breaking initiatives in the first 100 days of its second term. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar will hold a press conference in New Delhi today to brief on the steps and achievements of the Government. Several Union Ministers will also hold media interactions in different cities across the country in the next few days.
Mr Javadekar tweets said, several crucial decisions were taken by the Government for the welfare of the people. He said, a historic step was taken to repeal Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution to bring Jammu and Kashmir to the mainstream. He said, for the first time, Monsoon Session of Parliament functioned without disruptions and a record 30 Bills were passed. He said, productivity in Lok Sabha was 137 per cent while in Rajya Sabha, it was 103 per cent. Mr Javadekar said, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of achieving a 5-Trillion dollar economy, two cabinet committees have been set up to spur investment and create new employment opportunities.
The Minister said, PM-KISAN Yojana has been extended to all eligible farmers irrespective of the size of land holdings thus increasing the coverage to 14.5 crore farmers. Mr Javadekar said, GST rate on all electrical vehicles has been reduced from 12 per cent to 5 percent and their Chargers from 18 per cent to 5 per cent and their Chargers ushering in a new era of sustainable mobility. He said, 10 thousand crore rupees were earmarked for the adoption of electric vehicles. The Minister said, Fit India movement was launched on National Sports Day to make New India Fit.
