Uttar Pradesh Government has announced it’s maiden Agriculture Export policy, 2019. The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting yesterday chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Cabinet also cleared a proposal to compensate victims of lynching as directed by the Supreme Court.
AIR correspondent reports that Informing about the decisions, Spokesman of the government and Minister Shrikant Sharma told media that the maiden agricultural export policy which was passed by cabinet will target to augment farmers’s income and promote export of farm commodities. government aims at doubling the export of agricultural commodities by 2024 with the help of farmer producer organisations and various steps like giving incentives and promoting startups. In another major decision, government had for the first time decided to allow procurement of paddy from contract farming and share croppers with certain riders to ensure payment of minimum support price to genuine farmers.
