Hong Kong representative replaced

 China has replaced its main representative in Hong Kong, the head of the central government’s liaison office, reports said Saturday (Jan. 4).

Wang Zhimin was sent off and succeeded by another party official, Luo Huining , 65, the replaced by former Qinghai and Shanxi provincial chief Luo Huining, who just weeks ago got promoted to the capital Beijing, with a stint on national congress.

The new appointee was a surprise because he had only last week been named as deputy chief of a financial and economic affairs committee at China’s legislature.

The three previous years, Luo served as Communist Party chief for the province of Shanxi, according to the report.
