Rain, Hailstorms in Delhi, UP

Western Disturbance is located over Pakistan and adjoining areas, and induced cyclonic circulation is over east Rajasthan and adjoining areas on Wednesday morning. The WD and induced cyclonic circulation will bring scattered to widespread rain or snow and hailstorms or thunderstorms over Northern India, Central India and Eastern India on Wednesday. Isolated heavy snow or rain and hailstorm or thunderstorm are likely over Uttarakhand on Wednesday.

WD and cyclonic circulation will then move eastward, and bring isolated to fairly widespread rain or snow and thunderstorms over Central, Eastern and North Eastern India on Thursday. The WD will bring isolated to scattered rain or snow over North Eastern India on Friday, and then the WD will weaken and move away to the east.

A fresh Western Disturbance will be over Afghanistan and adjoining areas on Friday. The WD will bring widespread snow or rain and hailstorms or thunderstorms over Northern India from Saturday night.

Temperatures will go down over Northern, North Western, and Central India from Wednesday to Friday, and will then go up once again from Sunday. Minimum temperatures in Delhi will be about 5°C or 6°C from Friday to Sunday.

Maximum temperatures are -2°C to -4°C or less lower than average over Northern, North Western, Central, Eastern and North Eastern India from 8th to 11th. Maximum temperatures over Southern India will be near normal or slightly higher than average in this period. Minimum temperatures will be -1°C to -4°C lower than average over Northern, North Western and Central India from Thursday to Friday.

Dense fog is possible over Northern, Central, Eastern and North Eastern India in this forecast period.

Dry weather is likely over other areas in this forecast period.

Air quality will be poor or very poor across all India, especially in major cities like Delhi.

Heavy snow/rain and hailstorm/thunderstorm is likely over Uttarakhand.

Cold day conditions are expected over Punjab. Dense fog is possible over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Widespread snow/rain and hailstorms/thunderstorms are likely over Himachal Pradesh. Fairly widespread rain and hailstorms/thunderstorms are expected over Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Scattered rain and hailstorms/thunderstorms have been forecast over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and east Rajasthan. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are likely over Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar.

Isolated snow/rain is possible over Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Isolated rain is in the forecast over Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Odisha, interior Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Dry weather is likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, west Rajasthan, Gujarat, coastal Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.

Dense fog is likely over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan.

Fairly widespread snow/rain and hailstorms/thunderstorms are expected over Arunachal Pradesh.

Scattered snow/rain and thunderstorms are likely over Sikkim. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and Chhattisgarh.

Isolated snow/rain is possible over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Isolated rain has been forecast over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Dry weather is likely over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
