Ukraine International Airlines flight crashed on Wednesday shortly after take-off from Imam Khomeini airport, Tehran’s main international airport, killing all 176 on board, Iran’s state television has said. Iran’s civil aviation spokesperson Reza Jafarzadeh said that an investigation team was present at the site of the crash close to the airport in the southwestern peripheries of Tehran
A Ukrainian airplane carrying 180 passengers and crew crashed near the Tehran airport, reported Iranian state TV. Iranian news agency Fars reported that the Boeing 737-800 crash was suspected to have been caused by technical issues, as did Iran’s official news agency IRNA.

All of those on board (at least 170 people) were killed in the crash, an Iranian emergency official told state TV. The plane crashed due to technical problems, state TV further reported. According to preliminary info, plane was heading to Kyiv.
