Due to ongoing western disturbance and Cyclonic Circulation, thunderstorms are expected, mainly on Saturday, at the foot of the western Himalayas, the lowlands of North India and north of upper and the middle basin of the Ganges. Isolated thunderstorm accompanied with hail/lightning also likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on 15th & 16th January, 2020.
Several parts of the national capital today received light showers. Delhi recorded minimum temperature of 9.5 degrees Celsius. According to Met department, the city is expected to receives more rains during the day. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 16 degrees Celsius. Twelve Delhi-bound trains are reported running late due to fog.
Uttarakhand, normal life has been affected following the snowfall at higher reaches in Chamoli District today. Cloudy weather was witnessed in Almora, Champawat and Bageshwar districts of Kumaun region. Under its influence, scattered rain/snow over Jammu & Kashmir and widespread rain/snow over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand with isolated heavy falls over Uttarakhand on 16th January, 2020.
Met Office said, during next 24 hours hail is likely at isolated places especially in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Pauri and Nainital.
Heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places in Pauri, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar and heavy snowfall at higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts.
