Chinese stocks tumble


Chinese Composite Index is down on the fear of Corona Virus.

The index is down -9% at the days open. Its wiping more than $100B off its value.

Chinese stocks plunges as markets reopen

China, fears over the corona virus have triggered a sharp fall in shares when markets reopened after the Lunar New Year holiday today.

The Shanghai Composite index fell nearly 9% before recovering slightly, while commodity prices also slumped.

The fall came despite China’s central bank announcing new measures to ease the impact of the outbreak.
