More than two million coronavirus cases recorded globally
More than two million cases of the novel coronavirus have been officially reported across the globe while the death toll from the COVID-19 has crossed over one lakh 30 thousand mark. The figures have roughly doubled in 13 days and is growing steadily.
The United States has so far registered more than 6 lakh 19 thousand cases while the number of cases has crossed over one lakh 70 thousand in Spain. In Italy, the number of critically ill patients have been on decline but with several new infections, the total cases have crossed one lakh 65 thousand mark. France and Germany each has reported over one lakh 30 thousand cases so far.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases topped two million on Thursday as United States posted nearly 2,600 additional deaths from COVID-19 in 24 hours, a new record and the heaviest daily toll of any country, Johns Hopkins University said.
A running tally from Johns Hopkins showed 2,569 victims bringing the total number of US deaths to 28,326 — higher than any other nation.
The figures came after President Donald Trump earlier in the evening said “the data suggests that nationwide we have passed the peak on new cases,” and he will announce Thursday the first plans for lifting coronavirus lockdowns.
According to Johns Hopkins, the number of cases in the US reached 636,350.
