Here’s our latest weather outlook for India

5-Day Nationwide Weather Forecast

Thunderstorms are expected over East and Northeast India due to massive convergence of winds towards Bangladesh and moist air from the Bay of Bengal.

In addition to the above, precipitation is expected over the Trans Himalayas and the western Himalayan region due to a feeble Western Disturbances and induced cyclonic circulations; and South India due to local cyclonic circulations and/or troughs.

Rains are possible over Nicobar Islands due to a cyclonic circulation (CC), although the CC can move northeast with some development in the future. However, the peak of development can be on the evening of Monday, May 11th, over central Bay of Bengal. Then the CC can lose its power, wander off east of the state border between Andhra Pradesh and Odisha from Tuesday afternoon, and finally disappear.

Maximum temperatures will exceed 40 degree Celsius mainly in West & South India due to hot air mass blowing out of the predominant high pressure in the Arabian Sea. Especially on Friday & Saturday, max temperatures can reach or above 45 degree Celsius in the Thar Desert.

In much of Trans Himalayas & W. Himalayan region, minimum temperatures will be extremely higher than normal, at least until the next two weeks.
