According to Pakistan’s news channel Geo News, the aircraft was rented from China and was around 10 to 11 years old.

It has been found during the preliminary investigation that the landing gear of the aircraft failed to open, due to which the accident occurred.

Eyewitness reports say that the aircraft’s engine caught fire, after which it crashed. The control tower says that the pilot last informed that an engine of the aircraft had stopped working and the aircraft suddenly started moving to the right.

The pilot had sought permission for emergency landing, but the aircraft crashed before landing.

Pakistan President Arif Alvi expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in the plane crash incident. Prime Minister Imran Khan, while expressing deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and ordered an immediate inquiry into the incident.
