Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami announces ‘maximized restricted lockdown’ from 19th to 30th June in areas of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu and Tiruvallur districts which come under Metropolitan Chennai Police limits
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said a “maximised restricted lockdown” will be in effect in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Chengalpet and Kancheepuram districts from June 19 to 30. Grocery shops, takeaways and other shops selling essential items will be allowed to remain open between 6am and 2pm during the lockdown.
With Chennai and suburbs, Chief Minister K Palaniswami on Monday declared a total lockdown in these areas from June 19 to 30. CM cash relief of Rs 1,000 to rice ration card holders and unorganised sector workers in Chennai areas in Chengelpet, Kancheepuram Tiruvallur districts.
People driving in their own vehicles can travel only within 2 km of their house – Only essential services and travel for medical emergencies will be permitted – Banks will be open only on June 29 and June 30 – E-passes will be issued for people only for weddings, deaths and medical emergencies – Amma Unavagams and community kitchens will be open
