Four years after India’s IRCON and Iran railway signed an MoU to build the Chabahar – Zahedan railway, Iran starts project on its own, cites funding delays from India.

India commitment to its rehotric to its neighbours tacitly tell tale of loud noise but fiscal prudence at low ebb. High time for India leadership to score with its allies to counter deeper influence on its neighbours states otherwise US and its allies to ploy to counter China remain daunting task.

Iran drops India from Chabahar rail project and its economy to be laced with Chinese investment after US hardened its sanction on Iran and nation suffers wth economy slow down.

Iran and China are close to finalising a 25-year, $400 billion strategic Partnership, including Chinese involvement in Chabahar’s duty free zone, an oil refinery, and a larger role in Chabahar port.

How far Chinese go in playing their role in Iranian economy is matter of not trust but need of the hour.

Chinese presence in Iran would expand in various plethora of sectors namely fiscal prudence banking, telecommunications, ports and railways, including a several projects go to Chinese companies.

Furthermore Iran-China on rail project bring more military dimension culminate to joint training, exercises, joint research on army weapons development, even intelligence sharing as part of the agreement.
