UN campaign happening in 2020 – UN turns 75.
To mark its 75th anniversary in 2020, the United Nations is igniting a people’s debate: UN75. Launched by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, it promises to be the largest and furthest-reaching global conversation ever on building the future we want.
The 75th milestone is happening during the worst global health emergency of our time. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused massive upheaval in nations across the globe that has no parallel in recent history. As the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres puts it, “More than a health crisis, it is a human crisis.”
While COVID-19 has disrupted the world, the world also faces other dramatic changes and complex challenges. From the climate crisis to population shifts to the unknown course of technology, we need collective action more than ever before. Through UN75, the United Nations will encourage people to put their heads together to define how enhanced international cooperation can help realize a better world by 2045, the UN’s 100th birthday.
UN’s one-minute survey –www.un75.online – serves as our primary tool for input at scale. The survey is an important tool to engage as many people as possible in our global conversation, despite restrictions arising from Covid-19.
The views and ideas that are generated will be presented to world leaders and senior UN officials at a high-profile event during the 75th Session of the General Assembly in September 2020, and disseminated online and through partners continuously.
Take the one-minute survey and have your say in the future of the world. The survey is available in both Hindi and English and other languages.
