Russia on Wednesday evacuated more than 2,000 people from nearby villages after a wildfire set off explosions at a munitions depot in the Ryazan region southeast of Moscow, officials said.

A series of large explosions has rocked #Russia’s #Ryazan Region. Fireballs and a thick plume of #smoke could be seen rising from an artillery arms depot located 185km south of Moscow.
Military officials said the explosions were caused by local #wildfires that had reached the facility.
No casualties have been reported as yet, but 10 villages within a four-kilometer radius have been evacuated.
