Poland’s Iga Swiatek beats American Sofia Kenin 6-4 6-1 to win French Open women’s singles title.


French Open: Poland’s teenager Iga Świątek aged 19 defeats Sofia Kenin in the women’s singles final,not drop a set en route to her first career title 6-4 6-1 over Kenin title at #RolandGarros

Kenin congratulates Swiatek – ‘You played really well.’

The 19-year-old Swiatek will earn $1,900,000 for the incredible achievement and moves to 17th position in the world ranking. 

Earlier, Sofia Kenin left the court due to injury and could not play her natural game after returning on the court.

In Men’s Singles, Rafael Nadal will take on Novak Djokovic tomorrow. Nadal entered the final beating Diego Schwartzman 6-3 6-3 7-6. Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas, 6-3, 6-2, 5-7, 4-6, 6-1 to set up a summit clash with Nadal. Nadal, a 12-time French Open champion, will be aiming to equal Roger Federer’s record of 20 Grand Slam titles.
