Turkey Tolls 91

President Tayyip Erdogan said 885 people had been injured, 15 of them critically.

A 3-year-old girl rescued from the rubble of a building in Izmir, 65 hours after an earthquake rocked Turkey’s western coast.

The death toll from Friday’s catastrophic earthquake – that jolted the country’s Aegean coast and Greek islands – rose to 51 on Sunday as rescue officials continue their search operations.

As search mission continue miraculously, a 70-year-old man was pulled from the rubble of a flattened building in western Turkey early on Sunday after being buried under the debris for 33 hours.

Officials said 58 buildings were destroyed in Izmir’s Bayrakli district which was in the process of urban transformation due to lack of earthquake resistance.

A total of 155 people were under treatment for injuries sustained during the earthquake.

Speaking at a news conference in Izmir, Environment and Urbanization Minister Murat Kurum updated the number of heavily damaged and destroyed buildings to 58.
