Evidently farmers talk inconclusive because Govt will prepare a draft & give us. They said that they’ll consult the states too. Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Sunday extended support to the December 8 ‘Bharat bandh’ call by various farmers’ organisations against the Centre’s new farm laws.

Farmers continue to hold a sit-in protest at Singhu (Haryana-Delhi border) against the Centre’s #FarmLaws which dilutes farmers option of seeking various option of getting best prices for their crops.

On eleventh days of farmer protest the talks appear agreeing in words but fails to take shape contentious to put on papers .

5th round of talks between Central govt. and farmers concludes; Next meeting to be held on Wednesday

Across states union of several farmer hold a meeting near Singhu border (Haryana-Delhi border) as their protest against the farm laws enters Day 11. Sixth round of talks between farmer unions and the Central government is scheduled to take place on December 9.

The next and 6th round of meetings between the Central Government and representatives of farmers’ Union will be held on 9th of December. The  Centre today held the 5th round of talks with representatives of farmers’ Unions to address the issues concerning them at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. 

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has reassured the farmers’ Unions that the system of Minimum Support Price, MSP will continue and there is no threat to it. He said, it is baseless to create doubt over this. 

Mr Tomar said that the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, APMC Act is related to the State and neither it is the intention of the  government  to affect the mandis in the States, nor are they affected by the law. He said, the Central government is ready to do anything in its power to further strengthen APMC Act and if anyone has any misconception regarding APMCs, then it is absolutely ready to resolve it. 

The Agriculture Minister said, they have  told the farmers that the government will consider all their aspects. He said, during the meeting, they have requested the farmers’ Unions to send elderly and children back home in wake of Covid-19 situation and cold weather conditions.

The Agriculture Minister reassured the farmers’ Unions that the Narendra Modi government is fully committed to the interest of  farmers and will remain so in future. He said, in the last six years, major reforms have been undertaken under the leadership of Mr Modi  in the agriculture sector. 

He said, several agricultural schemes have been implemented, income of farmers has been increased, agricultural budget and MSP has also been raised. He said, the government is ready to hold talks with the farmers to resolve their issues. He appealed to the protesting farmers to end their protest.

Punjabi singers perform at Singhu border to express solidarity with protesting farmers. Several singers including Diljit Dosanjh, Gurshabad Singh Kular & Harf Cheema were seen. “We’re boosting the morale of farmers through our songs.,“ says singer Gurshabad S Kular.
