India extends ban UK Flights

Within Europe, France, Spain, Gibraltar, Germany, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Switzerland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Romania, Austria, Hungary, Portugal, Latvia, Luxembourg, Finland, Moldova, Denmark, Turkey, Russia and the Netherlands have halted, or have said they will soon halt, flights arriving from the UK

50 countries ban UK flights. Pakistan extends ban on flights from UK. Canada Turkey,Middle East,Hongkong.

Greece has also imposed stricter quarantine measures for people arriving from Britain.

Beyond Europe, Canada, Kuwait, Mauritius, Hong Kong, Israel, Chile, Iran, Uzbekistan​, Jordan, Peru, India, Argentina, Morocco, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Panama, Singapore, Tunisia, Oman, Pakistan, Jamaica, Grenada, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Algeria, El Salvador, Iraq and Saudi Arabia are barring arrivals from the UK.

Caribbean destinations of Jamaica, Grenada and the Dominican Republic are among the latest to shut their doors to travellers from the UK.

India, Russia, France, Poland, Germany, Finland and Austria are suspending flights for two weeks and Switzerland until further notice, with travellers who have arrived from Britain or South Africa ordered into quarantine. Baltic nations Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania as well as Hungary and Luxembourg have also halted flights, while in the Balkans, Croatia, Macedonia and Albania followed suit with Bulgaria and suspended them until January 31.Romania has banned all flights to and from the UK for two weeks, as has the Czech Republic.Norway, Sweden and Denmark suspended flights for 48 hours. Denmark has detected nine cases of the new strain on its soil.Belgium has suspended both flights and Eurostar rail services.

Indian government on Wednesday extended the suspension of flights to and from UK till January 7 amid alarm over the new highly contagious strain of the coronavirus.

Twenty people who returned to India from the United Kingdom have tested positive for the new UK variant genome of SARS-CoV-2 so far, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday. 

The tally includes six people who were found positive for the new virus strain on Tuesday.
