Israel authorizes Moderna vaccine for use against COVID-19
Israel has authorized the Moderna vaccine for use against COVID-19. With this approval, Israel has become the third country in the world to approve the vaccine, after the US and Canada.
The US biotech company said, the Israeli Health Ministry secured 6 million doses of the vaccine.
To curb a sharp rise in new COVID-19 cases, Israel will tighten an ongoing nationwide lockdown. The stricter lockdown will be in effect at midnight between Thursday and Friday for 2 weeks as the country presses ahead with its rapid vaccine rollout, says PMO.
