Black boxes of crashed Indonesian airplane located.
Indonesian authorities on Sunday located the black boxes of the Sriwijaya Air jet that crashed into the sea soon after taking off from the capital Jakarta on Saturday. Navy divers have found wreckage from flight SJY 182 after locating a signal from the aircraft’s fuselage. Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said, the locations of Flight SJ 182’s two black boxes had been identified. The Boeing 737-500, en route to Pontianak in West Kalimantan, disappeared from radar screens minutes after taking off.
Human remains and plane wreckage have been pulled from the crash site of the jet that plunged into the ocean minutes after takeoff with 62 people on board. A command post has been set up at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in Jakarta to identify the crash victims.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate plane crash. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, India stands with Indonesia in this hour of grief.
