The assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Assam and West Bengal.
All arrangements are in place for assembly elections tomorrow in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Assam and West Bengal. Single-phase polling will be held for 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu, 140 constituencies in Kerala and 30 Assembly seats in Puducherry.
Third phase of assembly polls will take place in West Bengal and Assam. West Bengal is witnessing eight-phase polling while a three-phase election is being held in Assam this time.
Bypolls to Kanyakumari Lok Sabha seat in Tamil Nadu and Malappuram Parliamentary constituency in Kerala will also be conducted simultaneously.
In West Bengal, polling will begin at 7 AM and end at 6.30 in the evening. 31 assembly constituencies spread over three districts, Hooghly, Howrah and South 24 Parganas will go to poll in the third phase. 205 candidates including 13 women are in the fray in this phase.
In Assam, polling will take place in 40 assembly seats.
