Delhi HC asks Centre to file status report on supply of oxygen to Delhi.
Delhi High Court in its order asks Kejriwal govt-when Central govt had sanctioned funds in Dec. 2020 to set up 8 Pressure Swing Absorption(PSA) Plants for production of oxygen, why only one has become operational till date. As usual, Delhi Govt had no answers.
The Delhi High Court has asked Centre to file a status report on the supply of oxygen to Delhi and asked why Delhi is out of line with other states when it comes to supply of oxygen. The court was hearing petitions on various issues including oxygen supply in the wake of rise in COVID -19 cases in the National Capital.
Senior advocate Rahul Mehra, appearing for Delhi Government apprised the High Court about other states which are getting within a range of 2-3 per cent of what they projected. Amicus Rajshekhar Rao informed the court that Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra received more quantities of oxygen than they asked for. Advocate Mehra said, some responsibility must be fixed on the centre.
The court then directed the centre to expedite the installation of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) plants in the national capital at the earliest.
