Effectiveness of Odd-Even formula of Delhi Government

I went out to see the Effectiveness of Odd-Even formula of Delhi Government but there was Total Success in keeping Cars Off Road andPrivate Buses Functioned Perfectly under DTC management but visible SMOG didn’t decrease mainly because the wind speed was almost zero.

Successes are: –

1.]  Even when at 5PM when there was only one head constable on Green Park – Yusuf Sarai stretch and none in interiors of colonies but there were No Violators of Odd-Even On Road and Head Constable was hiding yet couldn’t find any one for challan.

2.]  Private School Buses were operating efficiently though at peak hours were operating at say 30% load and this points to Enough Capacity to take up MAX LOAD on Monday.

3.]   With about 40% Cars Off Road – Roads Were Safe for Two Wheelers.

4.]   Unexpectedly SUVs and Large Vehicles, Trucks were Largely MISSING due to holiday and Trucks were missing because there were Too Many Enforcement Officials on roads to check Old, Illegal & Polluting Vehicles.

But today Schools, Colleges, Offices and Many Factories are closed

Failures are: –

3.]  There were Much More Autos at Metro Station Exits – this means Delhi Metro was Operated at Less than Peak Capacity in spite of added trips.

4.]   There were 20% Even Number Cars in front of Shops and there was 20% Less Cars Parked – But it didn’t VACATE SPACE for Cars, Taxis & Autos Used by Customers.

REMEDIES:  –

1. Delhi can reduce TRIPS by 60% to 75%, Schools Admissions Within 1-2 km, Colleges Within Region, IT Companies in Delhi, E-Shopping, Garbage Free Food Distribution etc.

2. Ban Parking On Main Roads, in Shopping Areas,

3. Service Tax BANK LOANS @2% Shall Earn Rs.20,000 Cr – Double Delhi’s Budget for Development,

4. Shut Down all low tech polluting industries,

5. Relocate Wholesale Markets outside Delhi,

6. Ease Buying & Selling & Renting Of Properties,

7. Promote IT & High-Tech Industries, R&D in Delhi.

8. Shut Down Old & New Delhi Stations, Replace With New Terminals,

9. Circular Lines for MASS TRANSIT TO Regional Towns, & Electric Mass Transit, Double Deck CNG/Electric/Hybrid Buses.

10. E- Public Offices, Tele Services.

Volkswagen India records its best ever production figures in 2015;

With 123,456 vehicles, Pune Plant registers over 10% growth

  • Higher demand in domestic as well as export business drives the positive growth for Volkswagen India
  • Volkswagen Vento was the highest produced car in 2015 contributing close to 60% of the total production
  • Total production at the Pune Plant crosses 575,000 numbers since the start of operations in 2009

Pune, January 1, 2016: Volkswagen Pune Plant achieved its best production results since it started manufacturing cars almost seven years ago. In 2015, the German automaker rolled out 123,456 cars from the production facility in Chakan. These were 12,012 units or 10% more as compared to 2014.

Dr. Andreas Lauermann, President and Managing Director, Volkswagen India Private Limited, said “Volkswagen Pune Plant has increased its production for the third year in a row. This has been possible because of the increased demand from both domestic and export markets.” He added further: “Unfortunately, the global emission topic slowed down our development in the second half of the year and held us back from an even better result. With the new compact sedan, we have a new car in the production pipeline which will help us in carrying the pace forward in 2016 too.”

The total production of 123,456 cars at Volkswagen Pune Plant included approximately 72,000 Volkswagen Vento cars, 38,800 Volkswagen Polo cars and 12,700 ŠKODA Rapid cars. The domestic production grew strongly with an increase of approximately 23% to approximately 54,140 units while the export production maintained its strong base with a growth of 4% to 69,300 units in 2015 as compared to 2014.

The highlights of 2015 included showcasing of ‘Made-in-India’ Volkswagen Vento at the Hannover Messe 2015 in front of the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi and Chancellor of Germany, Ms. Angela Merkel; the start of production of the new Volkswagen Vento; and the addition of important export markets such as Argentina.

Till date, Volkswagen Pune Plant has rolled out over 575,000 cars since the start of production in March 2009. “The credit for this success of Volkswagen India goes to all of our employees. They have been working hard day by day to ensure that highest quality cars are produced at our plant for India as well as for over 35 export markets across four continents. The results of 2015 are a proof of the high capability of the workforce at our plant”, said Dr. Andreas Lauermann.

World Bank sign US$ 50 million for minority communities

The Government of India and World Bank sign US$ 50 million project to improve education & skills training for minority communities in India

The Government of India and the World Bank signed a US$ 50million credit for the Nai Manzil; Education and Skills Training for Minorities Project to help young people from minority communities complete their education and gain from market-driven training programs with the aim of improving their employment outcomes.

The project will support the Government of India’s national Nai Manzil (New Horizon) Scheme, a comprehensive education and skills development program for youth from minority communities, launched in August this year. The project will reach out to disadvantaged youth from minority communities and support their enrolment in open schooling, as well as provide hands-on vocational training. It will also provide post-placement support to assist them in finding sustainable employment.

The Nai Manzil Scheme is designed as an integrated education and training program that provides youth from minority communities skills that are needed for different tasks in a rapidly changing world. Interventions under this project will support the Nai Manzil Scheme in improving the employability and performance of minority youth in the labour market.

Further, a recent World Bank study of select skills training programs in five states of India found that well designed skills training programs make a positive difference; beneficiaries were found to experience a seven percentage point increase in employment (with a stronger result for women than for men) and a 21% increase in their wages. In addition, formal education continues to shape employment outcomes and long-term productivity of the youth. Youth with primary education (or less) receive 12 percent lower wages than those with secondary education, the study found.

The prime objective of this collaboration is to help youth from the minority to extend their formal education and enter the labour market with better employment prospects. It has also been added that India’s demographic dividend can be harnessed only if all young people from all sections of society are equipped with the education and skills needed to make them productive members of the econom
