THE U MUMBA TRAIN KEEPS GOING – EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE WIN FOR ANUP KUMAR’S TEAM

Hyderabad, August 4: Nothing seems to be going wrong for U Mumba in Season 2 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi. Today at the Gachibowli Stadium they scripted their eighth straight victory in their usual fashion by beating Dabang Delhi 29-25. It was an inspired show from their ‘captain cool’, Anup Kumar who shepherded his side towards the end with his calculated empty raids that ate valuable time.

He had earlier put his side ahead 25-20 with the help of the do-or-die raid specialist Rishank Devadiga, after Mumba trailed for most of the match. It was a memorable day for him as he also crossed the 200 point mark as a raider.

Dabang Delhi after trailing initially at 9-10 managed to equalize and went on to score a ‘lona’ at the stroke of half-time. The tall raiding duo of star player Kashiling Adake and new inductee Dadaso Awad troubled the Mumba defence no end.  Kashiling had 4 points with a bonus and Dadaso got 3 to do the bulk of scoring. In defence captain Ravinder Singh Pahal manning the right corner for Delhi was always a threat.

U Mumba decided not to field their premier raider Shabeer Bapu Sharfudeen. And although he is not in good form one felt his presence would have had some effect on the opponents. Finally all is well that ends well as always and Mumba came out unscathed.

The U Mumba defence came to life in the last ten minutes of the match. Probably inspired by rival captain Ravinder, both Jeeva Kumar and Vishal Mane effected tackle after tackle to take the game away from their opponents.

In the closing couple of minutes Jeeva caught Sandeep Tomar and Vishal like a wrestler and single handedly threw Kashiling Adake out of the arena to finish the contest with the score reading 28-22 in Mumba’s favour.

Speaking about his side’s fortunes in the post match press conference, Anup looked optimistic. “I did not have the best game but it is encouraging to see the team perform even in those circumstances. I am very happy that the team has managed to string together so many victories. We hope to continue putting in similar performance and go on winning.”

RS adjourns for day & Opposition boycotts LS

Aug 4PM

Unity in opposition was visible when the suspension of twenty five Congress members from Lok Sabha brought together several opposition parties who boycotted the Lok Sabha. Congress, Trinamool Congress, JD(U), Muslim League and NCP boycotted the proceedings of Lok Sabha. Soon after the House met, members of the Left, Samajwadi Party and RJD walked out as a mark of solidarity with the MPs suspended for five working days by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan yesterday for causing disruptions.

In the Rajya Sabha, Congress and several other opposition parties created pandemonium over the issue, leading to a washout of the day’s proceedings. Outside, Congress MPs, led by party President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, staged a sit-in near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue along with leaders of SP, RJD and AAP.
The opposition benches in the Lok Sabha wore a deserted look as the House conducted its listed business for the day and passed the Railways Appropriations Bill 2015.

Replying to the debate Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu said, the government has undertaken several measures for railway projects to kickstart country’s economy. He said, the public sector Life Insurance Corporation has agreed to provide one lakh fifty thousand crore rupees for five years for the development of rail infrastructure. He said, 17 states have come forward to take part in the joint projects to expand rail infrastructure. He thanked Maharashtra government for earmarking 10 thousand crore rupees in this regard.

Advocating for a dedicated power source for railways, Mr Prabhu said his ministry will focus on energy and sign an MoU soon with National Thermal Power Corporation to set up a solar project. Referring to encroachment of railway land, he said digital mapping of the land has been started. Giving details about the progress made in the implementation of various budgetary announcements, the Minister said so far 79 items have been completed. The Minister said a quarterly review of progress in the implementation of rail projects will be made public.

SCTETM Highlights SCTE India Initiative and NewTraining Portfolio With CommunicAsia Debut
Telangana to take leadership in cable and broadband transition through digital skilling with SCTE and ESSCI
For Immediate Release
Telangana, 3rd August, 2015: The Telangana Cable Association -SCTE and ESSCI, supported by industry leaders like Arris (formerly Motorola) hosted an intellectual seminar at the Youth Hostel, Secunderabad on 29th July, 2015. The seminar was organized to promote skill development in the state and to potencially certify more than ten thousand technical resources in the cable and broadband industry.

With the sunset date for analog cable looming large and the sunrise of digital cable, broadband, e-commerce and financial inclusion, todays technicians would need to be oriented and skilled. This would be pivotal to this successful transition.

SCTE, an apex global body for cable and broadband skilling and certification, and ESSCI have partnered with the Telangana Cable Association and Novacom, to bring forth this skilling transformation.

Mr. Subhash Reddy, the President of the Telangana Cable Operators Association who is the driving force of this initiative, said that his vision was to ensure that every cable operator across Telangana was informed and equipped to transform the Telangana Cable and Broadband Space as envisioned by Mr.Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.

Mr. Rahul Nehra: National Secretary of SCTE India said that SCTE is thankful to the association and Mr. Reddy for driving this initiative, and hopes that this will go a long way in the digital transformation that is underway.

The first learning and certification centre is being established with the Novacom Group in Hyderabad and will expand to other centres across Telangana in a phased manner over the next one to two years.

This skilling initiative which will cover the whole of Telangana, and Hyderabad is expected to be one of the biggest initiatives in India. In Andhra Pradesh alone the target is to skill and certify more than ten thousand cable and broadband professionals. These skills will set the foundation of a digital telangana and assist in a robust implementation of the digital cable and broadband transition.

“In another global first, this one of its kind initiative, will go a step ahead in making the cable operator a harbinger of financial services and e-commerce for the banked and unbanked” said Mr. Sushil Chaudhary, MD of Mann India, whose company is actively supporting this initiative after their successful efforts globally in the financial inclusion space.
